In March, Her Majesty The Queen arrived at Hillsborough Castle to be greeted by the Lord-Lieutenant. The following day she hosted, as Patron of the Queen’s Reading Room, an afternoon of wonderful Northern Irish Poetry on National Poetry Day. Here she is leaving the Castle with Claire Woods, Head Gardener of Hillsborough Castle.

Congratulations to the Greyabbey & District Community Association which has received the King’s Award for Voluntary Services. A tremendous day for the Volunteers as Sue Newell, the Chair, was presented with the crystal. Also present were the Mayor of Ards and North Down Borough Council and the Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadet.

North Down and Ards Borough Council held a Veterans’ Day celebration in Newtownards in June 2023. A fine act of Remembrance. The parade of over 250 Veterans were led by The Band, Bugles, Pipes and Drums of The Royal Irish Regiment.
