Remembrance Holywood 2025

The Vice Lord-Lieutenant, Catherine Champion, laid the first wreath at the War Memorial in Holywood on Remembrance Sunday.  Many wreaths were laid by individuals and organisations.  She is pictured with Holywood Primary School Principal, Dr Graham Walker, and the P7 members of the Student Council who laid a wreath, Theo, Annie and Claire.

Newtownards Sea Cadets

The Vice Lord-Lieutenant, Catherine Champion, attended the Newtownards Sea Cadets Royal Naval Parade 2025.  Inspecting Officer was Commander (Sea Cadet Corps) Graham Tait, Royal Naval Reserve, who had come over from Scotland.  The Cadets and Volunteers put on an excellent evening for their guests.

VE 80 Band Concert Bangor Castle May 2025

In lovely weather, the Band, Bugles, Pipes and Drums of the Royal Irish Regiment played a concert in the grounds of The Castle, City Hall, Bangor, on the evening of Friday 9th May 2025, to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of VE Day.

The Vice Lord-Lieutenant, Catherine Champion, attended and is pictured here with the Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadet Company Sergeant Major Zara Dowell, the Mayor of Ards and North Down Alistair Cathcart, CEO of Ards and North Down Susie McCullough, High Sheriff Pete Leckey, Band Master Richard Douglas, and other VIPs.

VE 80 in Groomsport May 2025

The Vice Lord-Lieutenant, Catherine Champion, took part in a VE 80 Service at the Groomsport War Memorial on Sunday 11th May 2025.  Afterwards there was a community celebration picnic by the seashore.

HM The Queen’s Visit to Banbridge Library

Her Majesty The Queen, visited Banbridge Library on 21st March 2025. Welcomed by Vice Lord-Lieutenant Catherine Champion, Her Majesty was introduced to the Chairperson of Libraries NI, Ms Bonnie Anley, and went on to join a children’s story session.  She discussed her favourite books with members of the library’s Reading Group, and talked with members of the Craft and Chatter Group.
